When you upgrade your computer or network-connected printers to the latest version of Windows, you will face this issue where you will see multiple printers in HP Printer Assistant software. Steps To Resolve Multiple Printers Showing In HP Printer Assistant:
To remove the printers from the Devices and Printers folder and set up the printer once again, follow the steps mentioned below;
STEP 1: Get rid of the HP printers from the list of your devices;
Remove the printers from Windows before setting up your HP printer again.
Shut down the HP printer assistant software.
Now, look for Windows for devices and then choose the Devices and Printers from the results list.
On one of the icons make a right-click and then remove it.
For any other icons for your printer, repeat this process.
STEP 2: Link your printer in HP Printer Assistant;
To reconnect your HP printer with the printer assistant software follow the steps;
Reopen the HP Printer Assistant once again.
The printer setup and software window will display.

STEP 3: Ensure the printer is set as default;

In case, your printer icon does not have a green checkmark, then right-click the icon and set it as default.
STEP 4: Reboot your printer and computer;
After reinstalling the driver to complete setting up the software in your operating system.
Switch off the printer.
Shut down all running programs on your computing system and then reboot it.
Switch on the HP printer.
Launch the printer assistant tool.
